Email: Useful Settings

How to change the settings in Google mail to add a signature, turn conversations on/off, to list a few.

You will find that there are many settings that can be changed in gmail. Here are our top tricks and how to change them. To get started, sign in to your email account, entering your full TTSD email address and your password if needed.

 Click on the gear button and select "Settings"

 

"General" Tab Settings


 

Set up a Signature. 

1. Scroll down to Signature. The default setting is No Signature, click the radio button below that, then fill in what you'd like you signature to look like. Check the "Insert this signature before..." box to put your signature above quoted text when you respond to an email.

2.Click on "Save Changes" at the bottom of the Settings page.


 

Conversation View

1. Scroll down to Conversation View.

2. Click the radio button of the option you prefer. Conversations Off or On.


 

Click on "Save Changes" at the bottom of the Settings page.


 

Keyboard Shortcuts

There are some built in keyboard shortcuts you can use. Some choices are "c" to compose an email,  "r"  to Reply, "l" to Label .  Choose Keyboard Shortcuts "ON".


 

Click on "Save Changes" at the bottom of the Settings page.


 

Turn on Personal Level Indicators

Personal Level Indicators let you know if an email is only to you, a group of people, or a mailing list.

Turn on Show Indicators

1. Select the "Show indicators..." radio button.


 

2. Click on "Save Changes" at the bottom of the Settings page.
